Hard to tell with this pic. Possibility that they could be cottonmouths. Or banded water snakes. For every 1 venomous snake, there are 30 non-venomous.

Sorry I couldn't resist! It looks kind of like a couple of banded water snakes. I found this website... http://wildedtx.blogspot.com/2009/05/texas-snakes-on-crawl.html It's hard to see real well, but it LOOKS like there are no pits behind the eyes so thats my guess...banded snake.

That's plenty close in a yak! Sorry, can't help you on the name but I would guess the gentlemen who posted prior are correct. I think I would have had a paddle in my hand right after that camera went "click"

We've always called them banded or diamond back water snakes they are non venomous. They are one of the most common water snake in Texas and usually always people think they are cottonmouths. That yellow under the belly is a dead give away. When you see a cotton mouth you will know what you are looking at immediately, the markings on a cotton mouth is normally less defined, some almost look black and the most noticeable thing is the classic triangle pit viper head. Cotton mouths heads look a lot like a rattlers head.
