It wont be because they wont give it the attention they do Fork. Same with stocking. If you look at the pure numbers they stock in Fork yearly, then look at Roberts, you'll laugh. I read an article the other day where they said Roberts doesnt hold enough nutrients in the water to support large numbers of fish. Well, I call BS on that. There is more grass in that lake than I have seen since the early 90's. Shad population is high, so I scratch my head.

I also feel there are more big fish in that lake than you think. That showed Saturday.

Maybe we should all go out every once in awhile and do nothing but catch sandbass all day and give them to people who would appreciate them... They are happy with fresh fish to eat, and we are happy knowing we are helping decline the sandbass population??

No matter what you do, you will never put a dent in the sandbass population

Better yet, have a Sand Bass tournament and fish fry immediately following the weigh in at the State Park.

I agree with ya there... I've believed for a long time that the state record is swimming in Roberts, shes probably never even seen a lure. Ray Bob is one of my favorites, I'd like nothing more than to see it make a strong comeback.

14,000 fingerling in a 30,000 acre lake is nothing.

Give it some time and it will explode again. Everyone will be running from Falcon to Roberts. Just hide and watch. If Falcon and Amistad can do it so will Roberts.

Biologist for this area told a group of us 12 yrs ago that Roberts was not a very fertile lake. Said a lake was like range land. Some will support a lot more than others. Fork,he said, was a very fertile lake.

What exactly is in that stuff you drink Harper? I want some. Just kidding.

We all wish that, but I doubt it. It is a good lake, but unless something really changes I don't see it being like Falcon.

We can all dream though. The grass is helping. We just need more of the hydrilla, and the stockings to continue.
