I havnt figured out yet how to take the recoreded structure scan and create a pic of it to post on here. How do I do that? I did notice I was getting good pics at around 2mph. Anything slower than 1mph started getting pretty blury.

In one of the menu pages there is a "capture image" option. You have to turn it on, then to take a pic you push the power button ONCE only. It takes a sec to snap. You will have to do this while playing back your logged info on your HDS unit (can't do it from, sonar viewer)((at least as far as I know )). Now when you are done taking pics you have to put them on the sd card, drop them into photobucket or what ever you use for pics and post them. Now when you are done with all this hogwash you have to go back into the "capture image" menu and turn it off so you can power off the graph. One more thing make sure you are powering the graph off by pressing the power button, then scrolling down to power off, then enter. DO NOT TURN IT OFF BY HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON DOWN! Confused yet???

Don't count on it. The gen 1 is good stuff, the gen 2 just has a little more. Hell I bet in a few months there will be a new lss2 or something like it to be announced. Rebates on gen 1 units, rebates on gen 2 units and rebates on lss modules? They are bringing something new out. It just might be good, might not be good?

To take screen shots on HDS, you press Menu twice, then select Systems from the drop down menu. This will give you another drop down menu with the screenshot option. Your shots will be saved on internal memory, and you can then transfer them to an sd card.

My HDS 7 is not showing temp. I have a pod style transducer with temp sensor on the trolling motor. Looked at the tag on the transducer cable and selected that particular transducer on the HDS 7 settings. Any ideas why it isn't showing temp?

You need to select temp in your overlay data.

Hi everyone. I have update my hds unit to 4.o software version last month. So my question is should I kept the 4.0 version or do I need to update to the 4.1 ? Would it have any effect if I update it ? Thanks.

Looking for help setting up my HDS units with Structure scan. I am not seeing structure and fish. This is my set up HDS7 gen 1 at bow with transducer for that unit on trolling motor another HDS7 gen 1 at console with transducer mounted on hull and both linked to LSS-1 with transducer mounted on side of setback plate. Both units updated to 4.0. I am moving the structure scan transducer to the bottom of the hole shot plate thinking that might help but looking at all the info on this forum I think it is also in the settings. I use it for bass fishing on lakes and rivers. Any help will be appreciated.

Hey 2010, capture a few screen shots. That will tell us more than anything else.

Well, if you can't post pics, just describe what you see on the display in the "downscan" modality. Can you see the bottom? Are you getting a depth reading on the upper right corner on the screen? Really not much to play around with on settings, apart from manual depth settings and contrast. Fish aren't always easy to identify on Structure Scan.

Hi everyone. I have update my hds unit to 4.o software version last month. So my question is should I kept the 4.0 version or do I need to update to the 4.1 ? Would it have any effect if I update it ? Thanks. I'd do the 4.1. I like to keep my units software up to date because there wouldn't be an update unless there was something better to offer.

...DO NOT TURN IT OFF BY HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON DOWN!... First I have heard of this. What is the reasoning behind that?
