OOPS!

Sorry, have been working a lot of OT & it's been really hot. Kind of like a zombie coming in to computer about Midnight. Eyes were rolling last night & decided to just go on to sleep & slept late. Not even registering it was the end of the month (or start of another). So sometimes just give me a prod or wake-up call. I'm hopin' to finally get back in the water end of September/1st of October.

This weekend is a YC weekend, but I think also a Full Moon. Let's see if I can post this before I head out the door to take my cousin some fish from the freezer & pick up the boat trailer renewal (it's her boat, motor & trailer) ...

Here is your August 2012 Lynn's Catfish Calendar:

Lynns Catfish Calendar- August 2012
Sunday / Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday / Saturday
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
XXX XXX/ XXX/ | 1 BFT | 2 YC | 3 YC | 4 YC
5 YC | 6 YC | 7 ZIP | 8 ZIP | 9 BC | 10 BC | 11 ZIP
12 ZIP | 13 ZIP | 14 YC | 15 BFT | 16 ZIP | 17 ZIP | 18 ZIP
19 ZIP | 20 ZIP | 21 ZIP | 22 BFT | 23 BFT | 24 BFT | 25 ZIP
26 ZIP | 27 BC | 28 BFT | 29 BFT | 30 YC | 31 YC |
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And those August "circuit feed" target dates on the YellowCats:
4/5/6 (Sat/Sun/Mon)
14/15 (Tues/Wed)
23/24 (Thurs/Fri)
31/((1/2)) (Fri/[Sat/Sun])

Then there is the August Lunar portion too:
Full Moon 1st Wednesday (some say 2nd- Thursday)
Last Qtr 9th Thursday
New Moon 17th Friday
1st Qtr 24th Friday
Full Moon 31st Friday

Good Fishing!
Keep Kool!
And Be Careful in this Heat!

No Problem, just remember if I forget, then prompt me. Working on roof, much OT at work, and another research project. So I'm looking forward to end of September & first of October to finally get back & do some fishing once again. When hopefully it will cool down. It will be interesting to see if the Giant has moved back in to its old path after it had to move due to the lake's 10' drop this past end of year. Was hoping to have walked out & seen the YellowCat pathways, but due to my episode falling out of the boat, later storms, rains & high winds on the T-Day trip, I did not get to.

Lake Limestone level:

8-5-12 Sunday 10:33 PM
Report Generated 06 AUG 2012 @ 0318 GMT
LIMESTONE 363.0 ----- 360.46 50
Hmm, just over 2.5' low. Normal dumping is 6, so somebody is thirsty downriver as it shows 50.

They normally, or used to before last season's drought, keep the level 6 inches lower than full stage. So basically you are looking at 2 feet low. However, looks like she is averaging a 0.40' drop per week the past week or two.

This is the level of commitment for lakes in Texas:
Primary: Drinking Water
Secondary: Power Plants use for generating electricity
Recreation & Fishing is below the first two, but not sure what else takes precedent.

Lynn, I'd be really interested in how you come up with the dates you do, your methodology.

My apologies, as before I got to TFF the past 2 nights I fell asleep at the wheel here in the Library (typing on the keyboard), as I have been working late nights in this heat.

First off, have you read the 3 part section- May 2008 article intro on the Catfish Calendar in the 2010 thread? If not, you need to start there.
<http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/5176857/1>

Second, is that it consists of several things conglomerated. I pull in various research data & have to go thru it all, according to my early findings back in the early 1980s. I have to also use my deduction, as well as intuition, along with my experiences. And I have to factor in new research input (feedback), as I never stop trying to "fine tune" or
"hone in" better.

Third, it has to do with the proper interpretation of the data. As well as the year before looking at previous patterns. I have shared with two some years ago the process involved. For some reason, they chose not to try & pursue making the calendar themselves (or attempting to). Instead, they have waited for me to make the calendar & chosen to apply it & give me feedback (in depth if needed) to enhance it even more so.

You see, I love to research. And I am a pattern recognizer. And obviously I am not doing it for the money, as I share it for free. I do charge for the printed copies as OfficeMax does not print them free of charge, so I have to get reimbursed for that.

Of course, I have to retain a few secrets, should there ever be a counterfeit catfish calendar come out, I can prove mine was the original. However, I don't think anyone would, as their motive would be profit, as to their own.

Another problem factor coming in, which may have to be incorporated in the next few years, is extreme drought, extreme heat, or extreme cold. The Earth goes thru normal cycles, as does the Sun. These extremes can have impacts on the standard patterns of life, in anything upon this planet.

I noted this back in July 6th:
+++++++++++++
Oh, Labor Day weekend is lookin' really good. August 31st YC/ Sept 1st & 2nd both YC. And Sept 3rd is BC. And that is the actual 3 day roam/feed. Of course the Full Moon falls on the 31st, so that usually has the Yellows hitting later (around 3 AM to 9 AM), instead of the normal or average/approximate time (about 11 PM to 3 AM). The Blues also hit good on YC days.
+++++++++++++

I usually work till 10 PM or after on Thursday & Friday nights. And after a long hot workweek, the past few Friday late nights I have plopped down to watch a movie. And sometimes around 2 AM or so after it, I don't make it to 'puter. Last night plans were to post the calendar after the movie last night or early this AM, but fell asleep after the 1969 007/Bond movie with George Lazenby (only one he did as Bond). This is the one in which references to 007 getting married (near the end) is from in future Bond movies.

Ray, I did not catch your comment on the 30th, not sure why, as I checked after I got in late, as my uncle was packing for his, my cousin (his son) & cousin's wife's catfish trip to Running Branch at Lake Limestone this holiday weekend. My plans are to finally get back into catfishing end of September or first half of October after it cools down. Only reason my uncle is going is it is when Jamey (my cousin) set up his vacation time for & Kara's recovery from her kidney transplant has her rarin' to go do things before she lost energy (because of her kidneys).

I was thinking it was last month I noted the Labor Day weekend ahead of the schedule, not back in July that I now see.

Here is the September 2012 Lynn's Catfish Calendar (without further delay):

Lynns Catfish Calendar- September 2012

My uncle emailed me last night & noted Running Branch has wireless access now & he had arrived & was about to start fishing. That was around 7:30 PM. Of course he did not note if Jamey & had Kara arrived yet. Jamey is bringing his boat. They plan to set jugs out of RB & at bottom of lake, as well as up at the north end of the lake. They plan to scout up the river if not too low, as my uncle & mom were raised just north of the lake. He wants to see if he can recognize some of the old fishing & camping spots. However, due to the heat, they plan to do only early morning or late evening runs, as well as night runs in the RB area (No Wake Zone).

Also, for those wondering, I have decided I would combine the 2012 & 2013 calenders in the hard copy. As it is too late for most to even think of getting one, as we only have 4 months left for 2012. The 2012 will be up front, in brief, while the 2013 will be done the normal way with pics & caps (stories) with each month, plus the intro & tips up front. It will still be a Tribute to Jeff & Pam as a Memorial Edition due to their untimely deaths (as they were brutally murdered about a year ago in Mart, Texas). At first they thought they both had multiple gunshot wounds, but the autopsies revealed multiple stab wounds.

Also, I got sick & that caused a major delay in recovery & even feeling up to much the first 2 months of this year. Had I not stopped & regained strength, I would have croaked.

Thanks Ray! Yes, prod any time. I must be getting better, as I've been putting in 48 to 53 hour workweeks the past 2 months or so in this heat. I recall it was late in February to which I finally was able to put in 40 hour weeks.

Good Luck on the Blues! However, they may be pre-cooked in this heat.

James & Jamey had a good trip, not fishingwise though, as Jamey arrived late. Then motor problems. And Jamey was stump-shy, or afraid of tearing up the motor every time they hit one. They did not get to go up the river out of the lake as planned.
