Hmm I could use some catfishing tips, I have been trying to drift for them near the damn but no luck, probably has something to do with my bait. Been using garlic salt soaked chicken livers, might need to get some frozen shad or something. I'm free Sunday if you want to school me up some catfishing, gimme a location and time and I'll come running to get some fishing in.

Was wondering if anybody knew of any decent cat fish areas in the south end of the lake? Figure somebody in here might know a decent spot I can send my kayak out too. With the wind coming out of the North fishing the Arrowhead damn is not as good as it will be if the winds where from the South. The only place I know of that is in the south lake with a lot of rocks is the third bridge area.

FishingRhythe, try the rocky point southeast of the island. You can access it down the dirt roads south of Henrietta bridge. Was that you on the east end of the dam in a kayak couple of weeks ago?

Yup that was me out there learning how to catfish, managed to get a couple and had a blast. Going to try pawnee tomorrow. Ill hit google earth and try to find that area you are talking about. Thanks!

Edit: I think I see the island and road you are talking about. Does the dirt road go SE and runs into what looks like a road that runs east to west and runs into the lake?

The point is ESE of the island. You can take the road to the right immediately after the bridge. That island is also good to fish around. The north and west side has deeper water.
A guy I know caught a 30 lb. blue on cut shad a couple of weeks ago about 150 yards out on the west side. Don't forget about the river at Shonee Park after the last rain. Good Luck

Nope, i stood on a rock I caught fish fom last year. Drove over the damb and I could see the island. Hell it looks like you could walk out to it. I really hate seeing the lake this low.

Anybody been out to Shonee Park recentley? Was thinking I can find some Sandies hiding in the creek but not sure on the water level and at the price of gas, I do not want to waste a trip out there to see.
