No, today was the best day I've had out there. Got the one big one and 6 other small ones. Maybe once it starts warming up more we will find more of the big ones.

Close to a deep creek channel in a cove on the north bank.

He caught it so it was up to him.
I would have rather seen it returned but ya can't cry over spilled beer ... uh ... milk.
She would make a good skin mount.

Here is my fish story for the day:
Decided to take my 2 daughters out on the boat for a few hours and maybe catch some fish. Been fishing for about 5 minutes and get a bite...set the hook...line snaps down close to the reel. Bad spot in the line I guess. Put another plastic worm on and fish the same spot. After about 5 minutes I get what I thought was a bite so I set the hook, but nothing so I reel in the worm and there is some line wrapped around it. So I pull the line in by hand and lo and behold there is the fish that just snapped my line with the worm still in him mouth. He was about 2LBS.

Cool story David! I have had braid break on the hookset right at the point where the line enters the reel (baitcaster) Were you using braid by chance?
As for you FFM this is Karma getting you back for catching the pond record bass from MY honey hole...
Your luck will turn around when you hit that pvt pond tommorrow. I am going with Carlos to a private lake first thing in the AM as well... I have very high expectations.
