Man, I love the San Marcos River. There are some campgrounds all down the river if you want, or you can stay on islands and sandbars like me. Great fishing, beautiful little river.

Went to college in Arkansas and must add some great fishing and beautiful river fishing..
Buffalo - awesome but can get WAY overcrowded.
Kings Creek - great - but can get crowded (not as bad as the Buffalo)
White River - great camping and great fishing
Ouachita River...typically not as 'scenic' as those in the Northern part of the state but quite good fishing.
Saline River (the Alum fork) is gorgeous and probably the most underrated even unknown smallmouth fishing spot in the state.
Some of the best fishing and scenic fishing - Crooked and Strawberry Creeks. Awesome smallmouth fishing.
