Hit the nail on the head.

Castaway Skeleton SKF7M 7mag MH as good as it gets for an all around versitile rod. Less than $150, not only made in USA, but in the great state on Texas.

Do you want completely made in USA, manufactured in USA, assembled in USA with components in other countries, there are so many levels to this. Kinda reminds me of a rodmaker couple of years ago who got on this bandwagon naming his rods USA rods only to find out that it was made in china.

Castaway rods. I spent the last six months trying all kinds of rods by different companies and found them to be my favorite. Bought a spinning and casting rod. Additionally, their office is close to my house and their customer service was great. I wanted my grip shortened, e-mailed them to set up a time to take two rods by their office I recently purchased and picked them back up 30 minutes later.

i don't think the academy castaways are american made,i remember seeing a made in china sticker on the butt cap . . you may have to order online if you want an american made one. i personally didn't like the reel seat on the skeletons . . but you may

I've never checked them out. I like the feel of falcons and st. croix but st. croix is out of the budget for right now
