Fiberglass cracking (TOP CAP) NEED HELP ????? #7216757 02/26/12 04:54 PM

OP basshunter1 Extreme Angler Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 1,357 Northeast, Texas	The top cap is cracking in about ten spot in a 14" long place. All are about 3" long running from the top downward toward the rubber bump guard. Has anyone had this problem? If so what did you do? It started with three small ones now there are about ten. My boat is a 2004 model. I can't remember bumping a tree or anything hard enough to start the cracking. Need some help with what to do. Is this a insurance issue. Is there a danger factor using it. Worst decision I made was trading in a Champion for a Ranger. Ranger wanted me to send it back to them for repairs, by their estimate it was going to take 8 months. i told them they could send me a new boat. Now I am very happy with my BassCat.

powdr Outdoorsman P Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 240	Probably sress from pounding waves or bumping into things.That one area of the deck is thin and weak...not unusal.I worked for Glastron when I was in Austin yars ago and it was not a common thing but not rare either.Sanding the deck down and spraying over the cracks should do quite well.If it's metal flake make sure you take it to someone that is familiar w/matching the flake. powdr
