I got shut out this afternoon. Even though after the sun went down I could see fish breaking all around.

I floated along the bank tossing a buzzbait, you could see the fish move away from it. No lie, the water was real shallow so I could actually see a wake they made as they swam away from my bait.

I also put in a brush pile last week and I couldn't friggen find it to save my butt.

All in all, a freaken lousy day on the water.

Is the city gonna have a meeting about the plans for the ponds soon? I would love to know if there is one coming up.

Ya know, I think just calling Jim and talking to him about it would be fine.

I don't expect many fishermen would go to a meeting so an email or a phone call will work. He just wants to know what we want.

If you live in Denton and pay taxes (like I do) then it's a pretty cool way to have a "say so" in what happens with our local lakes.

Now why wouldn't a fisherman go to a meeting?

Maybe because we would be thinking about fishing during the meeting?
Also I wonder about other ways that the city could reach more fishermen then the small "Denton fisherman" handful on this forum?
Maybe an article in the Denton paper?

I am trying to book one of our meeting rooms for around the 13th so any folks that want to meet to give input to improvements at North Lakes Bonnie Brae Pond or any other of our Community Fishing Lakes can meet and discuss things that would improve the fishing out there. Looking at the possibility of having the meeting at the Civic Center Front Community room and having some av aerial pictures of the lakes and plans on what would be best suited where. Things like fish attractors,additional stockings, preferred species, forage fish, possibility of a fishing peir and its location and what ever else that the public feels we can improve on. Tenatively looking at Tuesday March 13 at 5:30 pm but I am waiting to here back on a possible rental that may move the date. If that date is good for folks and we cannot make it at that location we could always use the conference room here at my office at 601 e Hickory. I always like to get input from my user groups before changing anything because the last thing I want to do is ruin someone's perfect spot or have them say, "If you had ask me I would have said do....." I want to make the lakes better for everyone and I could use your help and ideas.

FFM - I haven't read all 27 pages of this thread, just the first and last so maybe the answer is already there - but did you learn how to fish the lakes with big swimbaits?
