BTW I have never seen so many amature wildlife biologists on one forum. Pretty sure it is a given it was not swimmimg due to no wake genius, and basically you are saying gators only swim with the eyes and nose out all the time. All stealthy like an aquatic entry by special forces. Do you watch swamp people??????? Thats is where I am working on my bachelors in gator behavior.

I'm not saying they only swim that way....I'm saying you don't see the floating tail up high in the water like that esp right in front of you. Normally you can see it's head and maybe its back. And yes I have plenty of exp. with them and yes I have seen swamp people, I'm from further south in La. than the show is filmed, and congrats on your bachelors that means you've prob. been alive as long as I've been hunting them. Gators unless really accustomed to being fed won't expose themselves, esp when they are that size.
There is no doubt there are gators in that lake, they are prob. in far more lakes than people realize. I just think someone faked the pic due to the letter that was sent out. Could I be wrong...sure. Does it really matter...no

Whether real or not the pic looks fake, and it's fun to pick a side and debate it.

Carry on.
