Razorback speaks the truth. People should be more worried about cottonmouths than gators. They're more of problem than gators. Plus gators keep the snake population down.

Yea, but they have anti-venom for snakebites and people survive them. Large Gators keep the small pets and children population down. (Mostly in Florida but could be coming to a state near you)

Again, I live very close to Eagle Mtn. and there are WAY too many rich lawyers, rich doctors and rich professional people with wives and kids who live on the shore. And RIGHT or WRONG, once "Rich Wife/Mom" sees a big gator swimming by her shoreline, she will tell her husband that a big gator scared her and the kids and the little dog......there will be something done to eradicate the "man-eater" from "their" lake.

Mark my words. I'm only telling you how I know it will be. Their fear of the gator will drive their decision. I want to add that gators don't bother me and I don't bother them. Mutual respect if you will. And I don't provoke them when I see one. I ain't against gators, I just know how those folks at the Eagle Mtn. Sailboat Club (with lots of kids) will react to a large gator this summer.

Edit: And no disrespect to those wealthy lawyers, doctors or others and no insult to anyone was intended by this post!

Or deer. There have been more people killed by deer than gators.

Fish n Cynic,

I'm sure you're probably right. Maybe TP&W can trap and relocate it before it gets a bullet to the brain. They should move it to the Trinity near Downtown Dallas to feed on the dead bodies thrown in.

There IS gators in E.M., but that photo looks WAY photoshopped. The reflections don't even line up right.

I've been fishing EM since 1978 and I have NEVER seen one or heard of one. Not saying it's not true, but I'd think I would have seen one by now either on the water or by my dock having a duck dinner.

Photoshop. There's no way it isn't. I don't doubt there is gators in the lake but that's not one.

While working hurricanes Francis, Jean & Wilma, I fished all over Florida. Ya'll quit worring. Don't bother them & they won't bother you. Not that I would go swimming with them, but I have wade fished & saw them swim by. If they came my way, I gave them the area & found somewhere else to get back

The Gator is real and it lives on the south end of the lake.Seen it several times. We also have alligator gars that will make the gator look like a toy.Lots of them.last year they were all surface rolling in a school. Larger than a telephone pole in dia.Hundreds of them. Lakes are for fishing and pools are for swimming. Maybe the gator will thin out the jet skiers.
