Perfect unit for sandbass etc. Doesn't hold tight enough for crappie brush pile fishing most of the time. Don't get me wrong I love mine just pointing out some facts.

Great unit for whites, hybrids, and striper fishing...which is basically all I do on public lakes.
Downside is the mount that places the head of the motor outside the boat. Easy to damage during launch and retrieve.
Overall, I would not leave home without it.

The anchor lock is great. Great for open water. Meadowlark is right on about the mount. Mine hits on the roller when lauching.

It is great . Best thing is anchor lock for sandbass fishing. The guys that go with me love it because they don't have to do the dirty work. Johnny

As mad as I am at mine right now I'd still have to recommend it. I chimed in on the other post and it turns out the control board went out on mine (warranty is supposedly going to cover it) and I've had several other issues. (remotes and azimuth drive)
I would also recommend getting the 101# thrust, I've got it and it comes in handy in the wind and especially if you ever take the boat down to the coast.
If you use it A LOT you will likely have more long term expenses then if you get a foot or hand operated version. I've added about $300 to the original cost to mine now.
Still enjoy it but now realize it has down sides.

Oh and if your battery goes out on your remote while your fishing (has happened multiple times to me) no more trollin motor. Or if you loose it or drop it in that'll cost you $120.
