I knew that. I was saying it was funny he was laughing at us being out in those conditions as he was out there too.

Was it Kurt or Derek, Mark? Both really nice guys. I've not met the Rains Co. Warden, Nathan Wilson.

I've known Kurt since he first came to the lake and he is as nice a person as you will ever meet. That being said, if you mess up he will give you a ticket, friend or not. That is his job!!

He just waved and that was it. When I finished getting everything ready for the road, I walked over there and said, Hey since you are here and all, give me a walk through exactly like you were checking me on the water just to make sure I am not missing some little technicalitly. I did tell him though, this is voluntary so if you find something - no ticket. He just laughed and said sure. As we were talking, he said he was checking people as they come off the water but bass boat owners always have everything and are the least of their problems.I guess he had profiled me and figure no need to bother.

Oh, and I passed with an A+

I will get out of the car and do lake patrol during the warmer months sometimes even on a waverunner and you're right.....I'm proud to say most fisherman have their stuff together. I bet the fishermen get a kick out of me pulling up and just making small talk then I'll zoom off to hammer a recreational idiot.

Is it official oppression if I ask what they are catching them on while I'm in uniform? smile

You would be the only one that probably ever gets the truth.

These guys are the ones charged with protecting the resource we all love so very much... We should go out of our way more often to thank them for their service.

I've had nothing but good encounters with the game wardens around our area and elsewhere. They've always been friendly until they see a wakeboarding boat and then they usually let me go back to fishing. cheers

and Heath is a good guy as long as you're not fishing against him.. grin
