Team Oops is on a roll in the Central Divsion of Bass Champs. Travis and I had to disqualify ourselves at Lake LBJ for showing up in a ski boat called the Moomba. I told Travis, that we are probably the first Bass Champs contenders to show up at registarion on Friday night in a Moomba! Little did I know how correct I was. When I told Jeff Welch we showed up in a Mooba, it went right over his head. He thought I was referring to a type of truck he had never heard of before. A few minutes later, Jeff asks to see the Moomba. When I say it's in the water, he just starts shaking his head. "Tony, you are not supposed to be on the lake in any type of boat"! OOPS! So Travis and I disquailify ourselves. Jeff tells us to go ahead and fish, weigh our fish in, get on stage and annoucnce to the crowd about our mistake and our weight does not count. Well, instead, we slept in at LBJ Resort till 9:00 AM the day of the tournament. We put beer in the boat, left our life jackets on the floor while running, left the kill switch off and used live bait. We figured we would break as many rules as possible. The Moomba is 18 feet long and has a 350 small block Holley carbureted 260 horse short block. It runs about 60 and turns on a dime, but there is so much more it's capable of(ha ha). Well guess what, I bought the Moomba for Travis. It's a chick magnet. Perfect gift for a 22 year old. He's got lots of ideas about tricking it out. JP knows the details. Travis will give free Moomba rides during weigh in and not a day earlier!
Team Opps signing off. I really did think the tournament was at Belton this weekend. The "Dude Abides"!

And we are just getting started. Give us a few weeks to get our act together and we may just win another Bass Champs event. We need to redeem ourselves somehow!

Travis just called. He is dissolving Team Oops and is going to put a trolling motor on the Moomba and find a different partner! He's even thinking about changing his last name!

Man, I was really looking forward to fishing tomorrow on Lake Belton in cold weather with thunderstorms and fishing rods in our hands! Darn!

Hopefully, you are not picking on my addiction to Tobassco, and if you are, what the heck does my love of Tobassco have to do with having a "blonde moment" as JP put it?

Watching "Sling Blade" at the urging of JP. Just saw the part where they cannot start the tiller. Billy Bob Thorton, checks the gas and there is none. His boss says to his other employee, "See there, he thinks of the simplest things first"! I have a calender right by my desk, sure would be simple if I would take the time and fill in important dates (such as Bass Champs Tournaments ) in RED pen on that calender, and maybe my life would run a little smoother! Team Oops
