Have Carlisle that haft of the tread on the in side is gone on both. Got price from Discount Tire yesterday for two sport $241 or with full R H $272 radial $273 with R H $305. I started to shop around. that would be the trailer axle/bearings/alignment causing them to wear on one side. been running TowMax brand for years after the bad luck with Marathons and i don't drive 65 !!!!!!
I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning !!!

Kumho 857 is rated to 99 mph and has a D load rating (my trailer came with C-load tires from the factory, which were always fine too). Never gone over 75 mph with mine, but I'm glad to know they're able to handle much more than I'll ever do with them. I could only find them on tire rack. I have had the Kuhmo 857's on my trailer for almost a year now and have no problems!

According to Goodyear you can run Marathons up to 75 MPH if you inflate to 60 PSI. Since Marathons have gone to junk these days, and Carlisle tires arent much better I tried a new brand that came recommended from a few reliable sources that have been using them... Give Triangle tires a try. I havent had mine long enough to give an accurate review, but so far so good! I have used Triangle for a couple of years now and told some others that switched and so far no issues at all.

patriot, that is good info to know and i think I will get these tires. Cost is like $480 for four tires. How much did it cost you to get them mounted? Thanks Mounting was shockingly high. I ordered some tires online like 10 years ago and it cost me $8 apiece at wal-mart to get them mounted and balanced. This is the first time I ordered tires online since then and it was $48 to get 2 of them mounted. I think wal-mart was like $35 and discount tire was going to be around $45-47ish, but I just took them to the local tire shop because they were so much closer and quicker. I'd call around about mounting prices before I ordered them to make sure you can find someone reasonable. Or befriend someone in the tire business. It's all labor and it takes them 5 minutes to do 2 tires. It really shouldn't cost $48. I tried to get the old tires off myself, but I was unable to get them off the wheel no matter how hard I tried.

Put four brand new carlisles on my stratos trail trailer in August 2001, headed to twok, got there fine but on the way home,Keller, Tx., blew out 3 of 4 brand new carlisles. thank God stratos used torsion axles as I made it home on one spare and the last brand new carlisle. Promptly replaced the carlisle junk with automotive tires and have never looked back. Does anyone really believe there is any comparison between auto tires and trailer tires.

I am thinking of buying some 16" wheels for my boat so I can get tires that will actually hold some air- I have a 19' champ with a single axel trailer and I blow out tires a lot- 14" would be great if I was pulling a john boat-

Trailer tires are customarily built as bias ply meaning they have a strong side wall and multi-directional treadwear capability.
Most automotive tires are built with internal radial belts meaning they have soft sidewalls allowing them to flex; causing bounce & rebound especially for single axle trailers. They also cannot be rotated from one side to the other on the trailer or vehicle.
There are many different experiences obviously with Goodyear Marathons, Carlisles, etc... Most of us have had tires blow-out on the road. A lot of times it happens due to under-inflation on trailer tires. Some of those under-inflations were probably due to a puncture occurring as we're pulling the boat down the road. It seems we blame the tires especially when we know we had them inflated properly or we just bought them. I for one would like to find a retailer who sells and mounts the Kumho 857s based on the lack of negative experiences with them.

Cooper Cobra GT 225/70R14. At 44 psi you have enough carrying capacity for a Ranger Z-21. The overall diameter is 26.27 and the tread width is 7.20 inches. The rim width needed is 6.0-7.5. Tire is factory spec for Bass Catt
This info was furnished by Cooper Tire.

I put Triangle tires on my Triton last year. No problem and the price was very good. 300 bucks for 4 tires with 3 year warranty.

I am buying a set (4) of Triangles in a few weeks, Give Kevin a call at Cowser tire off of 820 and Blue Mound road. He is a fellow bass fisherman and will treat you right.

How fast can you run the triangles?
I think a lot of that has to do with the outside/road temps.
