Simply not true. They most certainly work in some instances. I use them when fishing bridge pilings in deep water and they certainly make a difference. I seldom use them for spawning crappies since I am hitting different spots pretty quick. They certainly have a space in my tackle box.

I've tried them next to jigs without and can't see any advantage or catch more with them. They are messy too.

I can defintively tell you they work at times. I'll be using them and just nailing fish left and right. I get tired of putting them on and then the next few flips nothing. I put them back on and bang on the first drop. Color choice definitely matters at time. I have always sturggled with white ones. I use yellow and char.

Hey guys I really appreciate your thoughts. I don't think it will hurt to give it try especially when the bite is slow...

crappie are sunfish, and sunfish are very scent oriented. If you dont believe it, try rubbing some shrimp juice on a bare perch hook, thats dull so you dont think that the shine is enticing the bite, lower the hook next to a dock that has perch under it, and see what happens. they will nail it.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

When the bite is slow, they make a difference.
Having said that, I don't use them anymore. I use
slab bandits which have a smell built in.

You bet they work. They work with a Slab Bandit too. I actually take two niblets and roll them into a ball. Then Roll the ball into a a little worm shape and slide that on the hook. On some days you will at least double the number of strikes you get by using nibbles. Some days they make no difference at all.

I use them all the time, when I don't get a bite I pull my jig up, if my nibble has come off I replace and catch a fish. Have even caught with just the nibble and small hook.

It's also a good way to add another color into the mix: yellow body/black tail jig with white nibble, etc. Sometimes using a different color nibble is all it takes to get a THUMP!

I agree that they work. Especially when the bite is slow. I figure at the very least they are good for a few more bites and that usually means a few more fish.
