I fish for blue cats, and have 7 Team Catfish rods. I like that they are white, and have stainless steel eyes. Yes they are a 2 piece rod. While fishing at night, the exterior lights on the outside of the boat light up the eyelets, making it easier to keep an eye on multiple rods.

I don't think the blue cats know it's a channel cat rod, and I learn something new all the time.

Dont buy a rod just because everyone on here says they are good! The pro angler rod is a descent boat rod for the money but there are other rods that might fit your situation/needs better....if it happens to be a two piece TC rod than so be it.

I'm gonna miss her....

I say buy one and try it if you really interested. Check it out for yourself. I did that several years ago with the original TC rods at $99. Decided to stick with PA since I could get two PA for the price of one TC. I did buy few more later from another fisher at a price which was too good to pass up. For me, I'm sticking with my PA.

Can't say about the new TC rods, I know the eyelets on the original rod were sturdy. I'm sure most of the rods like PA, TC, TWC, and a few others made specifically for cats will all do.

I've done the same for my bank rods, buy one an test it out. If I like it, I get more.

Sam already has some Pro Anglers that he has purchased through me. He asked a valid question and people are giving their opinions. Kinda what the whole forum thing is about. I get where you're coming from on this. It's a Ford, Chevy, and Dodge kinda topic. We all got what we like. I'm always amazed by all the positive things people say about the PA rods. If they didn't hold up I wouldn't have as many repeat customers as I do. I hear and see some positives on both kinds of rods in this thread.

Yep and I was giving my opinion! I wish Tex could get the rods with Stainless eyes....My PA rods are the only ones I own that dont have stainless eyes and I treat all my rods the same. But after every trip it seems I have to bend the eyes back up or down, and after about 2-3 times of doing that they start to break! A pro-angler with stainless eyes for say $50 would be awesome!

I'm gonna miss her....

Both Team Catfish and Pro Angler are quality rods. I've fished with both and like the longer handle on the Team Catfish rods, the heavy duty stailess steel eyes are great and the white rods really stand out. I have the orginal 1/2 Ton and 3/4 Ton models as well as the new 2-piece Thundercat models. All perform well and will catch blue cats of all sizes. Based on my style of fishing, I'd rather use a more sensitive graphite rod for catching channel cats and use the Team Catfish rods for chasing blues. The rods aren't picky and don't really care which one bites though.

PA's w/SS eyes would be perfection! I say just do it SAM. You're just seeing what else is out there...it could always be a back up rod or you could just sell it! I just bought some Black and Blue rods from Smoky to do something different. Your PA's will still be there!

Those black and blues look fantastic. Tanglin with catfish makes a great rod too.

Or you could check out videos of the Bottom Dwellers 'Cat Fight Rod' on their website. Seems like a pretty stout rod. Just an opinion though!!! That would be the price I'd pay for a PA rod w/SS eyes
