There will still be fish in that part of the river. Maybe not as many, but if there is water, they will make it that far.
Been a while since anyone actually reported catching whites at the airport or 59.
Might have to check it out soon...

Might have to check it out soon... They'll make it up that far, but the one's that do are going to have their backs sunburned! Seriously though, I've seen whites swim upstream lying on their sides in order to make it up to the next pool, and they were splashing and fighting to move forward all the way.
Just one more cast!

Hey guys, any info on San Miguel Creek? Can't say I understand that river-flow chart that was mentioned earlier. Went to the creek the first week of Jan and it was very low! Off of the Daughtry bridge, there was about 60 yds to water on the right and about 80 yds of water to the left. In other words there was a stretch of about 140 yds of dry creek in between. I'm hoping these past rains have helped to connect the missing link! Last year we killed the sandies and crappie on that creek... It sure was fun! Any info on this creek would be greatly appreciated

That San Miguel doesn't have much of a natural flow except during wet years, and a while back I looked on Google earth and it showed that there are some pretty large green fields several miles upstream of the bridge, and from that I take that there is some irrigation that possibly empties into the San Miguel creek from that source, which could give the creek some limited flow, but with that said the San Miguel goes the way the lake goes.
If the lake is up, the creek will be up, so it's not so much what flows into the creek, it's what flows into the lake from the main river which is the Frio, with a little help from the San Miguel that is going to make the difference and back up the water into the upper reaches of the creek.

I wouldn't take your aluminum boat with a motor. We took ours a week or so back with just a trolling motor. I bet we weren't in the boat for a total of 10 min the entire trip. You WILL BE DRAGGING. You are better off with a pair of waders and a backpack. I wouldn't even take a kayak. I never went over my waist and most the time is was more like ankle to calf deep.
The water level at the airport when I went was just to the bottom of the concrete.
Same at 59 bridge. You hit a gravel bar within 50 yards either direction.
