I know you didn't want other rod suggestions but here goes anyway. I saw the Garcia Vengeance today and it was the best balanced and lightest lower price-point rod I've ever seen. Don't know how well they'll hold up but I did notice it had a 3 year warranty. Only $39.99!

My other buddy has a partner and he snapped 2 of them in front of us at Falcon on hooksets. The Falcon was a Bucco not a Cara and it to broke on a hook set. All these rods were not in my boat, ever. The only one that broke in my boat was my cousins veritas. I set it down I was holding it in the middle of the rod he was unhooking a fish, I had a bite I handed him the rod he grabbed the butt and the tip about a 1' broke off. That was 3 veritas in 1 trip that were wasted.

I dislike the feel of the rod I guess because after seeing all this carnage It makes you uneasy. I feel like I could snap the veritas easily. I have a Falcon Bucco that I feel the same way about. I'm not a big fan of that rod either. I've got Falcon's that are 17 years old and other than guides cracking they have never let me down. If you like them and they work for you that's all that matters. I should have just said I'm disappointed in their durability and left it at that and saved my self from having to type a novel.

I have two bucoo's also one i absolutely love and one i feel indifferent about.

My 7' mh bucoo is ok, i like it, but it wouldnt hurt my feelings if i lost it or broke it, i might replace it with something else in that size/weight i have a revo premier on it.

now my 7'5 bucoo medium fast, i love i would fight someone if they tried to take it from me. I have a quantum smoke on it and i throw small crankbaits and light topwaters like pop-r's with it.

for that purpose that rod/reel combo is one of my favorite rods i have.

I think i might just go out and see how hard it is for my vendetta to break, just beat the hell out of it until it breaks, i don't like it really and now i'm curious to how it handles serious abuse, it won't hurt my feelings to break it at all.

i've been wanting to try a duckett micro anyway, if i break the venfetta it will give me an excuse to get another rod.

I have a cara i think, it might be a lowrider. I'm not real favorable to it either, it's a 7' heavy, i only have it nt he boat when i go to falcon and i throw heavy jerkbaits with it. when i go to falcon i only bring 1 mh, all the others i bring are h and xh rods. so some of my rods i only use on the occasional falcon trip and i don't remeber exatly what they are, not like the rods i normally carry for the lakes in my area, i know them all exatly what they are.

I knocked the tip guide out of a 7'h veritas at falcon, but that was my fault, i was using the rod tip to knock a big bagley DB3 off a brushtop, but like i said that was my fault and i exchanged it at acadamy no questions asked..

I bought a veritas for shaky head. I love it. Well balanced and a nice price. Plus they're easy to see in your rod box!

I meant a totally exposed blank. My Vendetta has maybe an inch of exposed blank at the most.

Go with the Veritas with the new micro eyes. I have several and really like the feel and the back bone on these Fork fish..

I've got 2 Vendettas Heavy Action rods and used both at Falcon with great success. Biggest fish went right over 8 and had no issues. I don't know what your budget is but RPM rods are great and look around the web and you can get a 30% off code. I also was at Fork this weekend and our guide was using a rod from Reel Time rods and for $150, that rod was money. Hope that helps.

I have quite a few veritas, they are great rods. I think 2 7 med reg guides and 1 micro. 4 MH 7' (2 micro-2 reg) a 7'3" jig mh 7'6" cranking and a 7' cranking.

So far I have not broke a rod. I try and take care of the rods pretty good though. I did catch a 15 and 40 lb flathead one day on the 7MH micro and it didn't phase it.

The 7'6" is my next rod. Good rod for throwing c-rig on.

Can't beat the price and you can definitely see them in your rod box!

Someone brought up balance issues. With the V series, the rods are designed to be balanced best with certain reels. The colors match the reels as well.
The Vendetta is suppose to be balanced with the SX. The Veritas is balanced great with the premiere. The Villain is balanced with the MGX.

I know not everyone is going to match the rods and reels together. But you do have to put the appropriate reel on the app rod for it to be balanced.
