here is the bottom of the hull, showing massive peeling of the roll-on bedliner. Don't know how long the coating was on it, but I do not recommend doing this to your boat (unless you're trying to cover-up worse damage.)

Here is the hull after hand-peeling. Took about 20-30 minutes. The rest will be harder. Areas that were thicker came off easily because you could pull harder without tearing, while the thinner thicknesses were harder to get under and lift up with your bare hands. Will probably do the rest with a plastic scraper, being careful not to gouge.

I would never do that to my bass hunter so I don't know what to say. It looks like it came off pretty good.
How much do you think it weighs?
My basshunter is 100 lbs.

you might want to go to a Lowes or the like and get a small package of the wood tapered shims. then you can use some heat and the wood wont get hot and flimsey on you, they dont seem to scratch anything either Shim

The Pelican Prowler is supposed to weigh 154 lbs, per the factory specs. I'll bet it had more than a gallon of the roll-on bedliner on it, adding 10-15 pounds to the empty weight.
For getting under the remaining skin, I tried using a plastic scraper/smoother thing that came with some car body decals.
That gives me an idea, I think I'll look into the vinyl skin kits made for golf carts and boats. The adhesives stick really well to the plastic golf cart bodies. And you can really customize with a variety of colors and patterns or even use digital photos. Maybe cover the bottom with a photo of lily pads and a school of minnows from the bottom looking up to attract bait and bass? LOL.

Then the big bass will be attacking your boat.

Now I know why my boat had a bedliner coating on the bottom. It was used for covering scrape holes in the bottom near the stern. Scrapes looked like they were filled with JB-Weld. Have had the boat out twice and found it extremely heavy with trapped water in the hull between the inner & outer liners. Probably drained 10 or more gallons of water. Water leaking in between the liners is not affecting use of the boat and is not noticeable while fishing, but becomes obvious after trying to move the boat by hand on dry land! Guess I'll try patching with a fiberglass repair kit.

Have you seen that liquid rubber in a spray can advertised on TV? Cant think of what it is called off the top of my head. My buddy used that on his buster that had the same issues and it seems to have worked pretty well. Just a thought. Flex seal it might be called?

Hi, what size trolling motor are you using on your boat? Also how do you like since you've had it now for awhile? Thanks, Mike

I use a minn kota 30# thrust TM.
After using the boat for a while now I can't think of a thing I would change.
Being over 9' long two big men can fish off it pretty easy. It weighs around 100 lbs so there is no problems moving around.
I can stand up and fish all day if I want, it is very stable.
The wind doesn't blow it all around the lake because it's low profile.
I would recomend it.

I would recomend it. Thanks for the response, I bought a Pelican Bass Raider 10 two weeks ago from a fellow off of Craigslist. I bought the whole package for $550.00. I hunted all over the place in my area for one like you have and no place had them. If I wanted one, I would have had to order it and pay like $200.00 in freight. OUCH! The package that I got has a Minn Kota Maxxum 55 pound thrust motor with a 42" shaft. It's seems quite overkill for the 10 foot raider, especially with the 42" shaft and it weighs in at better than 25 pounds. It's a bear for this old guy with a bum ticker to tote back and forth from the truck to the boat. I rented a space on a beautiful lake to keep the boat so I don't have to lug it around all the time. I'm looking at getting a smaller trolling motor and that is why I asked. Thanks, Mike

Welcome to the club.
It sounds like you got a good deal, that TM should make it fly.

Dicks in Flowermound has two 10 foot pelican bass raiders..on clearance for 429.97, less 25% of clearance priced plastic boats ending in .97. Great deal for a brand new Pelican Bass Raider.
Also a bass buster for 459.99

I live in Central Florida, the closest Dick's to me is in Orlando. I called and they didn't have any of the two man boats. But was happy to order one for me as long as I paid the freight cost, which was going to be $159.00 just for the freight charge. Bass Pro Shops didn't even have any of their new version called Uncle Buck's Pond Prowler and didn't know when they would get any in.
Yes, That Minn Kota Maxxum 55 with the 42" shaft makes that boat move across the water at a really good clip. You can really tell the flexing of the transom when you go from slow to fast. I usually don't go faster than medium speed with it, which is quite fast. Most of the reviews for the Raider recommend getting a 55 pound thrust motor. But to me, it's way overkill. A 30 pounder would be the perfect size I think.
Yeah, I think I got a pretty good deal for the $550.00, I got the following:
2010 Bass Raider 10 Minn Kota Maxxum 55 trolling motor (motor & boat used twice) 175 Bass Pro Battery Shakespear automatic battery charger Two Seat pedalstals 10" (I removed them, made the seats to high for my taste. 10 pound anchor 2 new paddles 2 lifevests large fish net
