its going to take probably another week for the bigs to move back. the bite has been horrible. Not even the littles ones are biting but if you catch one that is what it will be is a lil 6incher. Tried it again today and caught two dinks in 2 hours. Maybe this front coming in and some colder consitent weather next week and hopefully they come in and turn on. Cant take much more of this. Im going to give it a few days then try again. five days straight and only 4 keepers size fish tells me they just arent in there and its time take a break. starting to question my sanity on how i could sit there and fish/hunt them suckers for 8 hours and not catch anything.

Yes, but for only 2.5 hours this morning. And it was really cold and windy. Both of the rods I was using had ice forming on the tips and only managed one keeper and three under sized fish. Did get some really good bites.

brazman it all has to do with the water clarity! Even if the crappie aren't bighting other fish will if the water is clear!

I fished in the upper end of the Leon river Saturday and only caught four crappie that were under sized. Found about four or five good looking spots to fish in the next month or so. Went back Sunday morning to fish the dock, due to the winds being alittle to strong to take the boat out and only got One keeper and 6-8 throw backs. Water was looking better at the dock and really muddy in the river. Tried out some new colored jigs with ok results.

Thanks Rainman. Hopefully they will be moving in here pretty soon. I can't wait till April though. We always rent a cabin at La Mancha and last year in two days probably caught 200 of them suckers by myself.
