Looking at paddles while I wait on my coosa or cuda lol. It seems the aqua bound and bending branches are the better ones but what's the big differences? I mean I like the advantage of the ruler on the bending branches ones but why the huge price difference? What makes one better than another etc. thanks guys

Look at the specs and see how much they weigh... Generally speaking, the lighter the more expensive. There are some exceptions. If I see two paddles in the same price range the lighter one will most likely get my money.... Sometimes the difference is 6-7 ounces... Picking them up you might think 'hey it's not that much heavier', but it really makes a huge difference on a long windy paddle...

Be sure it is a 240cm, you will need it when paddlin in the high seat position.

General rule of thumb is buy the lightest paddle you can afford. I bought a Aquabound Manta Ray Carbon. The price on these has gone up recently and it is the same price as the Werner Skagit Carbon. I would choose the Skagit over the Manta Ray for construction reasons even though it is supposedly 1 ounce heavier. ACK has both for $179 and you get a 15% discount if you are a member of texaskayakfisherman.com.
