I'd love to see a 12-foot alligator gar...

Hey Roadtrip,
Bremond is just a few miles off of hwy 6, on hwy 14, halfway between Bryan and Waco. Most aggies from the DFW area know where it is because they've used the road as a shortcut for years ( 14 runs into I45 at Richland). The Brazos is only a few minutes west of Bremond and some of the gar caught in that area have been better than 10ft. Like an earlier post said, finding certified scales to weigh a monster gar on isn't that easy, but the state inland records don't touch some of the gar caught,cut loose, etc. A friend of mine nearly drowned trying to hang on after shooting one with a bow gun near the falls in Marlin 15yrs ago.That's a nice pic redfin, but nowhere close to the bigguns here in big Tex!

It is seriously a sight to see redfin.

HE seriously was as big as our jon boat now if that jon boat was a 10 footer or 12 I cannot remember for sure but I know my buddy saul emptied the 22 pistol into his head.

BAck then I didnt even know there was a such thing as record fish etc.. I do remember the old mans reaction when we drove up to his place with the tail of this fish hanging out the back end of my old 77 gmc 4x4.
