Jr, I heard a rumor that you and Cameron have been fishing Squaw during the week when it is closed to everyone else so that others wouldn't know that you were there.Is there any truth to that? Any plans for you and Cameron to start guiding there as the other 150 guides have left and no competition now.

I was at squaw today & the bite was tough(that's probably an understatement. Caught 2 for 8 to 9 lbs. Had a couple come unbuttoned on the boat on 1.5s. I'm a tourney fisherman, not a stick by any means, I fished it hard & caught 2. Very disappointing. Talking to others out everyone had slow days. Glad it just wasn't me! Channel cats seem to be on though. Guy at the dock had over 30 in a ice chest.

I was out there fri. saw at least 10 fish up in the cattails along the west bank of the cove that starts from the island. I tried to catch a few but they were so buried up in the reeds it was next to impossible to make a cast and not land right on them. If you will troll as close as u can to the reeds u will see them run off.other then that i caught 2 I didnt see any fry.If a person is good at pitchin or flippin I would think they could manage a few off beds.

18#'s did good in any tourny last year and it will do good this year too.

LOL thats exactly how I described it at 10.30 and for us it stayed that way til 1.00 pm we had to leave at 2 but figured it out in the last hr. I still love that lake even if its fishing kinda tough it has some darn good chunks in it.

we had a club tournamemt there today, no one caught a limit, 3 fish max, big fish 5.42lbs, i had 3 go 9lbs total, we didnt see any fish shallow

there were 14 of us a few zeroed, the bigger fish came on DD22's

Fish Killer and I ran into in a guy at a gas station in Weatherford last weekend on our way to Ivey and he said that had over 30 fish with 2 over ten.

So, I am not sure what the rest are doing wrong, but that guy was tuned in.

18 pounds is headline news this year and your right last year we caught way more fish. but this year is tough no matter if you are good or not. Was proud to have a good day at squaw cause we fish it alot and love the lake. We are happy with our spots and pattern so we see if it hold for another week. I promise you My partner and I will weight in more than 9lbs at squaw next sunday. Hope we have a good turn out for tourney but sounds like some are scared to earn there fish this year, they want them to just jump in the boat. Thats why its called fishing and not catching.
