Going in the am just wondering how tough it was today out there?

Just talked to my dad, he and his buddy were on the lake until 2 and had three fish. He said everyone they talked to had 1 or 2. No consistent bite. Crankbait, fluke and I can't remember what the third was caught on.

Been very tough out there this year for sure. Might be better to stick around and fish Eagle Mountain. At least thats what i would do! Did very well last year but whatever is going on at Squaw this year has made fishing extremly tough. The average fisherman out there this year is pulling in 5 or less fish. Most everyone I know is catching just a few each trip.

I haven't been back out there since before 9/11 but the fishing must be tough. This time last Year it seemed like every other post on the TFF was about Squaw Creek. lol.

Oh well I guess we will go give it a try any how. I fished EM this afternoon and had three dinks. So what the hec ill drive to squaw and give it a shot.Theres got to be some bedding fish somewhere on it about now.

We were out there Today and Caught 3. 1 on a Sqarebill, 1 on a jig in 18 foot and 1 on a Brushhog in 6 foot. All three were very healthy looking fish, but the Bite is tough.

I saw a LOT of empty beds and a TON of Fry, Never saw a fish anywhere close to a bed. Maybe another wave will move up, but looks like alot of spawining happened on the New moon.

That info excites me . My iner fishing clock says squaw jan 7th LOL I was thinking we are on full moon this weekend ?

There is a Full Moon on Monday, But I honestly did not see anything to make me think fish were staged to move up.

I talked to alot of Folks on the water and most had on to 3 bites and most weren't able to convert thse into fish.

I have always fished well a sqaw, but Today left me scratching my head.

Squaw is horrible right now. I think
I can catch more at em right now. My buddy zeroed.

Oh now come one. I am sure someone will come on here and claim 30-40 fish days. then back if up with "you just gotta know where to find them"

last year we fished squaw from october to march every weekend sometimes 2 and a couple times all 3 days and only twice we didnt catch at least 10 fish with most days being close to or over 20 fish days and several times we caught over 40 fish but this year we have yet to put 10 fish in the boat on one day ..somethings different , maybe the weather idk...granted i have not fished squaw nearly as many time this year(mostly due to the bite being off)

Just hire a "guide". Wait. They all disappeared. Weird.

Maybe squawzilla has feasted on all the bass , that thing is huge. Wow aint to often that guys suggest staying at eml in jan LOL instead of going to squaw LOL . I just hope if the bites really bad I find the right guy to lie to me and tell me that they killed em so it can at least have the feel of a long day on EML. LOL

Hey EML has been good to me during the winter when you have several nice warm sunny days! Focus on the rocks and throw cranks and jerkbaits! Great pattern on EML this time of year when you get some nice warm and sunny weather!
