I used to have a couple of these jigs made by nichols but never used them. Don't think they make them anymore but sure looked good.

I throw it all the time especially in grass and weeds. I just downsized the blade size and that seemed to help with the swirlers. Also just like a topwater have a weightless fluke or senko ready for a follow up cast. If they swirl you know they are there find something they will eat.

Try putting one of those on a 7" Sinko rigged wackey style.
I uses a small 1" willow blade, most of the time. It also works as a weight as it falls. I can't say it will double your catches, but over grass at Amistad it has produced 1/3 more strikes for me.
