Heck why stop there, might as well "man up" and use an Alabama rig on cable wire.

Here is my tip for the day: If you want to use braid and a leader, use a 30lb Seaguar leader. They have them in small spools at Academy in the Saltwater section! I have been doing this, as well as straight braid and straight 25@ FC, and with the 30# leader, only once did I have a breakoff, and that was the braid to leader knot, which I should have retied.

I was just down there and used the 25lbs/37LBS Lake Fork Parahelium line, pretty awesome, little stiff off the spool, but loosened up after a few casts

OK, thanks for the help. I bought 65 pound braid for the trip. I will have to decide what pound floro to tip the braid with. I fish out of a kayak and I can not break the 65 braid and do not want to cut off 20 feet of line each time I get caught up in the trees or rocks.
Hope to post up in a week with a pict of a 10 pound or better LMB. What is the lake record?

I use 25 lb abrazx for open water. For flipping trees is another story. After breaking off numerous quality fish in the thick stuff I now use 65lb braid with a 40lb fluoro leader. After switching over I have had very good luck getting the fish out and I have yet to break one off.

That's what I am afraid of so I use the 20. I know some day i will regret it, but for now I have all my fingers and no cuts on my hands from the braid.

I'm still not sold on the braid to flourocarbon connection, if I feel the bite is tough I flip 25lb flourocarbon otherwise I stick with braid of whatever size I'm using right now its 70lb samurai braid, I don't like multiple connection points, that's just me I'm not a believer of the need to do this. Biggest flipping fish came on braid 11.4 in 4ft of water in the river, and others over 10 on 25lb flourocarbon, so I just don't see the need!
