I just replaced my cranking battery that also runs my livewell pumps. When I reconnect the new battery my pumps atomatically come on and run and the power button is OFF. The lights on the dash that indicate that the pump is on are flashing. I have pulled the main fuse and they go off. What is going on? is there a way that I can reset the fuses or something. Any help would be appreciated. Might be the wrong forum but I thought this would be my best chance to have it read by people with similar boats.
Thanks,

My auto bilge pump does that for about 30 seconds or so everytime I disconnect the battery and reconnect. Does it stay on for an extended time?

Yes it stays on for as long as I leave the main fuse in. The lights blinking on the dash make me think that something is tripped. It usually just comes on and stays on not flashing

Maybe something stuck in your bilge pump causing it to be on? Remove the pump and see, if not try replacing it. If no other electrical issues then I assume it is related to the pump.

Disconnect everything from the battery again. Let it set for 5 minutes. This gives it time to reset the computer. Change all fuses out on all lines wheather they need it or not. Connect the motor cables only, using a nut and wrench. Make sure everything on the dash is in the off position and no lights are on; everything is normal. Now connect all other electronics that goes on the crank battery, using a wing nut on top of the other nut.

Does your boat have the push buttons or toggles. My buddy had the push buttons and had all kinds of weird things.. He has changed to the toggles and no problems

Yep its most likly the touch pad. They have a problem getting moisture in them and going haywire. Buddy has an 07 that has had 3 console touch pads put in it. You might check with Steve Smith boat sales, he has bought out a closed Sketter dealers stock. I was able to get a Sketter Sea Star tilt mechanism from him for cheap.
