Screen. The bigger the better. SI is amazing.

It is so much easier to see bait fish on it (for me anyway) I didn't have a ton of experience reading a typical 2d graph before I got my side imaging, and it makes it a much better learning curve to read the 2d, to basically see exactly what it is with side scan or down scan split screen.

Thats my money fish

If you can swing it get the 7" screen, the 5" is just too small for SI...

Yes , it is money well spent. If you shop around you can get one on sale , especially this time of year. You could also save by buying used. When you think SI, think big. Do not get a small unit.

If you get one, go to Crappie section & contact Earnest Paty about his DVD. A good as it gets!

Some people go to church and think about fishing. Some go fishing and think about God.

Answer to your original question is YES. It will change your fishing drastically for offshore stuff... It makes dissecting grass beds a lot easier too.

I would fish out of a beat up aluminum boat as long as I had a big screen side imaging, a good trolling motor, and a power pole...

The combination of 2d, sidescan and down scan will give you a much better picture of the body of water. You will find things in your most favorite spots you never knew were there. SI/DI will help eliminate areas faster than ever. The real trick is getting your eyes off of the screen to fish. Have sometin=mes been so busy finding things there is little time to fish.

Well worth the money and a breeze to install. You will love it even if you don't cast for cash, it makes your time on the water more productive.
