believe me, they are there. I was seeing hogs, gators, coyotes, and bobcats in that bottom before the lake was even there! there was a 150 lb boar killed by a car just north of the bridge last fall!

They will all run from you. I saw 30+ hogs yesterday and they wanted no part of me.

a majority of all waters in Texas have gators. I have seen them at, to name a few local, Lewisville, Grapevine, Joe pool, Tawakoni, Lake Worth, Bridgeport.OH....and the city pond in Kennedale back in the 80's.

that is one way to access the creek, through the corp of engineers gate! by far the easiest way to get in there!

Gators will not mess with you in a yak. They're not croc's. If gators messed with kayakers, all of Florida would be off limits. As for snakes, you have a paddle in your lap to use on it.

I went to wallnut creek and caught 30-40 but only 5 that were keepers. in 2-14ft of water dead stickin it. the would not bite jig and bobber or swimin it the wanted it dead still. i thought it would have been alot better cause the pressure was super low and fallin 29.90

Where would this gate be? Is this a place I could park and launch my yak from?

You can only park on the side of the road.. The gate is for game wardens etc... Ive seen yaks in the creek.. I think they just carry them down to the creek...

Joe pool 13 incher
The way to communicate with the fish is to drop them a line.
To argue on a fishing boat is to have de bait.

only way to get in there now is walk. Britton park is closed so to put a boat in you have to go the North end of the lake. Unless you carry something small down to the water.
Plenty of hogs on the east side of Mt. Creek and saw some turkey down there a couple of years ago. Lots of snakes and plenty of rattlers...we used to farm the land on the east side of the creek and saw rattlers all over the place.

What intersection is it that you park at and walk?
