What you want is a M/H action, fast tip, 3/8-3/4 or 3/8-1 depending on the rod brand. The actions feel different from brand to brand.
You will have to choose the brand and length that you like best.
Good over the counter brands are endless, Dobyns, Loomis, Kistler, Powell, Falcon, St Croix, Shimano, Duckett. Any of these would be good a good choice also.

I prefer the Dobyns 734 for texas rigs. it has excellent tip to make the bait dance and help "feel" everything on the bottom. It also has the backbone to handle a big fish in brush and get them to the boat rather quickly. I use the Savvy line mostly, but the champion and champion extreme lineup would give you an even better "feel" and look. I honestly dont have any complaints at all with the Savvy lineup and the "feel" of the rods. I would compare it to other rods, but you wouldn't believe it until you felt it in action.

6'9" Kistler Mg gets my vote.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

Dobyns Savvy has the option of microguides now. Fishing World in Dallas should have some of the microguide models in stock.

MB843 7'0 med/hvy with fast action. I have this rod. Mat is right on. I like mine with a split grip and minima seat so I can really feel the blank.

Power Tackle PG144-7ft, or the PG 104 which is 7'6". Both are great worm rods. If you are fishing heavier cover go with the 104. For you average worm fishing you cant beat the 144. They are kind of expensive though, but you get a great product made in Del Rio TX!!!
