For worming around docks I like little shorter than 7 foot. Medium weight with a medium fast tip. Castaway CRM68 is my favorite for that. In open water I use a 7M from Castaway, same action in a 7 footer. Got to agree with this suggestion. The CastAway Skeleton series 7Mag MH SKF7M is the best I have picked up. I have since moved to the Rio Grande valley in south Texas and now fish Falcon about 5 times a month, so I have went to the 7Mag heavy SKF7H. Fishing deeper, throwing bigger weights, bigger baits, and catching bigger fish.

Gotta recommend the 6'6" or 7'0" heavy Moby Bass Series by Custom Angle Rods, by far the most sensitive rod you will use.

Brand preferences will give you endless answers but generally I prefer a 7ft md/hvy action rod for worm fishing, with 15-20lb flouro. I'll move to heavy action with braid if I'm pitching into nasty brush. I'm a big Kistler fan especially their micro guide magnesium rods. They have good backbone with enough flex at the tip to keep the fish buttoned at the boat.

6'10" H action 15lb Fluoro for open water, and a 7'4" H action 17lb Fluoro if there is any cover involved.

Thank you! After all the posts I have narrowed it down to about 100 different rods. The specs are what I really care about on this question!

You really can't go wrong a rod around 7' and with a MH action.
You decide...... Loomis Falcon Dobyns Shimano St Croix
On a tighter budget the new Abu Veritas feel pretty darn good....

dobyns 734 here, or the falcon clark wendlant 7'3 (amistad pretty much). I like the extra couple inches for hooksets since I am a short fella ![breakdance breakdance](/forums/images/graemlins/default/1995_breakdancing.gif)
