How many remember this little 1.7 hp O/B motor, called the "mighty Mite" & made by the Muncy Gear Works Co ? I still have it & it still runs. I have no idea how old it is.

Need to throw the then American made Zebco 33 in there. It and the 300 were my favorites. Couldn't afford the fancy Zebco 33. I fished first few years with a Zebco 202....they cost $2 at Gibson's discount stores.

I remember a bait called Herb's Dilly. I remember when fishing wasn't an industry. I remember going fishing and not photographing every fish I ever caught.

How about another bait called a Creek Chub.
Remember when there was no such thing as a bass boat.
Remember when you brought fish home in the old fashioned metal ice boxes, styrofoam was yet to be invented.
Remember when everybody scaled and gutted fish.

I remember bringing them home in a wet tow-sack (aka. Burlap bag), cuz we didn't have an ice chest; metal, styrofoam, or otherwise...LOL

My favorite lure back then was the Sonic. It was an early rattle trap type of bait. It came in several sizes. The blue gills would eat it up! Also the marabou crappie jig was catching all varieties of fish then, too. They were not crank baits, but plugs and $0.75 was on the high end of what you should pay.

yesterday on the way to TMS, MarkK & I found a vintage tackle yard sale/goldmine! I scored 20 old wooden & metal "plugs" (including a couple Sonics!) for 50 bucks! I'll post pics once I determine what some of the old things are. some of these lures are close to 50 yrs old. what a find! Also saw a michell 304 & 308, & 2 old 70's vintage swede ABU- 5000's.

I remember dad giving me a quarter and a gallon gas can, telling me to ride up to the 7-11 on my bike and get a gallon of gas. I would have .06 cents left over which I got a bottle of Coke and a Tootsie roll. then when I finished the coke I would take back the bottle and get another Tootsie roll

I remember going fishing and not photographing every fish I ever caught. I didn't have to...because we brought home every fish we ever caught to eat...even bass. Totally unheard of today.

I still eat bass if one happens along..
Would not surprise me if dragmaster isn't a millionaire now from that last post.
I grew up in NE Oklahoma and remember several of us taking a gunny sack each and walking a couple of miles route 66, picking up soda bottles for which we got enough at 2 cents a piece to buy a full soda, some candy bars and a pack of camels.

Shyster was a line twister. In Georgia we had Buckshot worms that were segmented that you broke off for the length you wanted. Guy in a grocery store sold them out of glass jars.

I still have a few of those lures...hulla popper, hell benders, river runt, bush whackers, that I bought at Gibson's discount for 75 cents. I also have a couple of mitchell 300s & a mitchell 302. Remember Herter's catalog..a great big catalog that had everything an outdoorsman could imagine...& cheap ? We had it all, back in the 1950s Roger How many of these do you remember ? Nailed it.. 1969 lake Winnsboro assault weapons right there.. LOL.. The Super Sonic (tiger striped) along with the Big HellBenders were our favorite**Trolling Lures** remember a lot of folks trolled for bass back then, with great success. We caught big fish too, prolly still could if you were to try it again.. Oh it was great fun to drive the old tri-hull 18'foot invader w/55 horse Rude at a notch above idle around points and timber dragging your favorite offerings back then on our summer break from school--high times indeed. Life didn't get any better for a couple of young boys back then (me and my brother)
