Caught this large spider a few years ago. Not sure the exact species. I think its a water spider of some sort.

Looks like a huntsman spider, in the family Sparassidae.

I don't fear any animal that I know isn't going to seriously hurt me. I know this spider isn't a black widow, brown recluse or a hobo spider so it doesn't bother me. Plus most spiders if you allow them to crawl on you and you don't pinch or squish them, they wont bite. I have probably held 50 of more different species of spiders and never been bite. Ranging from local tarantula, jumping spiders, orb weavers and the one in this picture.

My first thought when I see a spider is smash it not take a picture much less hold it....
