I'm with Kevin on this one.

The rules need to stick to one side of the fence. Either allow multiple baits at a time or only one bait at a time.

I personally would like to see the rule be only one bait at a time.

A lure with hooks attached in the water is NOT the same as a power pole or side imaging device. I've never heard of a bass being hooked and landed by an angler slingin' a power pole or depth finder on the end of his line. You can have all the electronic toys you want but you still have to entice the fish to eat your lure.

BLT, I would poll your ACTUAL customers about what they think about any rule changes....all others who DON'T fish your trail, what difference does it make what they think? They aren't spending any money with you. Ask your customers and those who support you. Their opinion matters.

Personally, I don't fish bass tournaments. I am not against them in any way and think that all tournament trails have a right to set what rules they want, as long as they seem reasonable to the majority of their customers. If I were a tourney director, I would rather pee-off 2 teams than 100. If you don't like a tourney's rules, don't fish that trail, simple as that.

I think the A-rig looks stupid and don't see it being much use in North Texas lakes.

That said, it is legal by state law, so leave the rule as it is.

I think that it should be one bait one pole. THIS is what has made tournament fishing a great thing. IT SHOULD BE ABOUT THE FISHING NOT THE TOYS. I am planning to fish BLT starting in the January so I have a stake in this. To me its all about a guys ability with a rod and reel thats what makes fishing great not a gadget of some kind.

to me , its a lot to do about nothing. that rig wont change much, other than catching more small schooling fish. I dont feel like those size fish will win tournies. limit fillers, but not the kickers you need to propel up the leaderboard.

One rod, that should be the end of it......Whatever they want to put on the other end of that rod (artificial of course) should be up to them.

I feel if you are going to ban it you should have to go all the way and say one line and one lure.

Not really relative. There are many rules in tournaments that are different than state laws. Life Jackets... Live bait.... Trolling... the list goes on and on.

Might as well get out politicians to write the ruling....they know how to avoid or create loop holes! banana

One lure, one pole. I don't see the number of hooks as an issue. If you are going to allow multiple lures on a rod, then multiple rods with single lures on them should be allowed also.

I like the original rule you have with two baits per line. I'm not a fan of the Alabama rig.

Dan Morehead caught almost 20 lbs per day on it to win the Everstart tournament and the line to article below confirms it will catch big fish....at times. The key will be determining when it's will be a better selection than any other lure. Innovation is what bass fishing has been about..similar rigs have been around a long time e.g. umbrella rigs, just haven't been used at the right time on the right water. I fish the BLT and will continue to either way, but I would not want to discourage bass fisherman from being innovative. There may be times it will dominate..but same as any other lure/technique, it will not dominate all the time..so I'd vote to allow it..
