After reading over the Media Bass rules, perhaps their thought is that an A-Rig is not catching fish in a legal and sporting manner which falls under the rule listed below. I can certainly see how a person could come to that conclusion. My first thought when I saw the A-Rig was that cant be legal for tournaments.. to each his own, I have a hard time believing everyone arguing in favor of the A-rig has even tried one. IMO whats happening here is a lot of folks spent a chunk of money buying the "newest latest and greatest" lure only to find out they cant use it on the tournament trail they fish so their pizzed off about it. http://mediabass.com/2k11/TX/TXrules11.html8. All fishing must be done with artificial lures only. Pork is permitted. Only one rod and reel may be used at a time by contestants. No trolling with the combustion engine is allowed. All fish must be caught in a legal and sporting manner during tournament hours from tournament waters. Contestants may not use any communication or video device for the sole purpose of locating or catching bass during tournament hours. Tracking devices inserted in bass may not be used by any contestant during or before the tournament. Hole-Sitting by or for entrants is not allowed.

I have a hard time believing everyone arguing in favor of the A-rig has even tried one. I'm not arguing for it. I take the position against additional rules. I have never fished one and do not ever intend to fish one. Open-water suspended skinny schoolers will not win many tournaments in Texas. If by TPWD regulations a technique or bait is legal then a trail can simplify their rules by following State laws.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

I don't see how it's not legal and sporting. I had the opportunity to check out several ARigs at the TTBC last week. I would have casted the one Mark Rose had tied on in the ProAm, but I was having right hand issues and was afraid I'd throw his rod in the lake! I don't see this being a huge deal in Texas, as most of our lakes are not clear enough for the presentation.

Might as well ban side scan. HA HA I love my alabama rig. Go coangler on amistad and throw it all you want. Flw will let you fish it all you want .They go by the state law. not made up rules State law also let's you fish live bait and multiple rods. Guess TD's should allow that too and throw out their made up rules?!

On Amistad there will be a lot of boaters tired of going and trying to get a Coangler Arig unhung all day...it won't last long in the brush.

Great! Them more rules about banning techniques for tournament fishing the better. Tournaments kill the fun of fishing. Jesus did not intend his fundamental teaching of others to fish to feed their families, to turn into a competition of us running our thousands of dollar rigs across a lake to disrespect our kinsmen by cutting each other off, driving over lines, and having no respect for others' serenity while enjyoining His creation as the world passes by.
PUT THAT IN Y'ALLS PIPE AND SMOKE IT!
Not you, Mark since I appreciate your help, but this tournament lifestyle is getting out of hand. JUST FISH TO ENJOY BEING OUT THERE Nor did he intend for people to go around rabble rousing and instigating problems inserting their .02 cents that has nothing to do with the topic at hand........

I think they just see where this multi lure thing is headed and are trying to keep it under control... If you bought one it would make for good wind chime ... Lol

I cant wait to see the next new bait in this line, prediction is a triple A Rig, 3 stages with 18 baits and 18 hooks. Or maybe a double rig with 6 or 8 baits on each to better mimic a school of shad.heck if 6 is legal then surely 18 would be even better. Maybe put a couple of small motors on them so they swirl around. Once the pandoras box is opened its tought to get the lid back on it.

dont agree with it Knee jerk reaction. If it is legal in Texas it should be able to be used in a tournament.

I have one that was intended for Stripers. I have had it for about 5 years and it is still in the package. I have never taken it out. It looks like a PITA to work.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

Very Gordonesk. Knee jerk reaction. He should look at another local trail that is not around anymore where the TD always listened to some whiny fisherman and eventually people stopped fishing with him all together. Exactly, at least BLT is asking for some feedback. The ARig is an American innovative lure, it's fun to fish new innovative lures, especially those made in America and that work. It will be like all lures effective sometimes on some water but not all time.let it live..
