I don't think that flounder was caught in Texas.... On another note...did you guys catch my name in that link above under Scorpionfish, Spineycheek? That's right boys...waiting on the IGFA All Tackle world record application to be reviewed and sent back to me now...

record in louisiana is 12.3#
They may get that big on the east coast, but aren't those different from a southern flounder?

Yep pretty sure baby Halibut.. unless sumbody`s been using [roids] ]  ..Bill That is a southern flounder..we dont have halibut down south. The fish was caught by a gentleman from the north jetty at Sebastian Inlet in East Central FL..our state record is 20.9lbs from Amelia Island right here by Jacksonville.

You sure it wasn't a "summer flounder"? Got any pictures of the fish's other side? A nice catch either way. That thing will feed an entire family.

....looking at that pic...NICE BY THE WAY!...reminds me of the time back in '81 when my buddy across the canal from me in Bayou Vista called from Alaska and wanted me to stay home two days later.
Seemed he was shipping a box home and would be in the next day.
Kept the box and when he showed up i was the one to pop the lid off and was looking at a 60+lb halibut!
...me being the prankster that I am we put it frozen on a stringer and dragged it behind the flattie down the canal on Bonita over to Louis' Bait Camp.
When we got under the HWY 6 Bridge I started yelling like I was on fire for Betty, the lady that ran the place back then to "Get the Camera! Bring the Camera!!"
.....that pic stayed up there on the wall until IKE took it out and I still have some folks ask "Where did Ya'll catch that again??"
...so good it tastes like it died screaming!
