It isnt uncommon to catch Small mouth up here in Northern Ontario or on the Greats Lakes 6+ lbs. You get one of those on the end of your line and it would make a DD large mouth feel like a perch.

Caught a small mouth at Amistad this year on a carolina rig and I thought I had latched onto a 8 lbs + LMB. It was like a 2.5lbs small mouth.
If you ain't first you're last.

Those are biguns alright got my arms itching to be broke. Those will make you know that largemouths are sissies. It's a good thing they usually don't get over 10 lbs you would never get them in the boat if they did unless you were using musky tackle.

If smallmouth got to weigh 15 # they would eat the props off outboards thinking they were buzz baits.

I would like to see a Falcon 6lber and your smallie battle it out. Those Falcon bass also have razor teeth.
