I know Little Mustang ramp is closed, but as far as I could tell, it's a short ramp, so it didn't take too long for it to go high and dry. That area is always shallow.

Me and my partner are going out there this evening to do some pre-fishing and get an assessment of the boat ramp situation. We'll report back tonight.

We hit Highview last night, and as predicted, the two inside ramps were closed. The two outside ramps were open though, and people were loading/unloading without too much trouble. We were marking 3 ft of water over the concrete off the end of the ramp, and the ramp goes out a good ways. Water drops off from 3 feet to 15 feet within 20 yards off the ramp.

But did yall catch any fish?

It was tough last night-
Ended with 4 eater channels.
Shad were easy to find but all were small. We usually pick up at least a few larger ones but not last night.
The sky was beautiful but SLOW action.
Soren had the magic rod last night, they kept finding his bait for some reason.
Better than sitting at home though.

Was shad your only bait? I am a die hard shad nut, but Bardwell is the only lake we have ever fished where shrimp consistantly outfishes shad. Dunno know why.

Funny you should ask that,
Yes we had shrimp also but never even got a hit on it, two rods baited with shrimp.
Last week it just the opposite, nothing on Shad and 4 on shrimp.

last time out 9 channels on shimp nothing on shad pieses.
time before more blues on shrimp than shad. time before (al nighter) about 50/50 shrimp and shad. Nothing on night crawlers.

Highview Marina Store will be throwing in some goodies for a door-prize raffle after the weigh-in, as well as feeding the participants some barbeque sandwiches. There is a handful of boat slips at the back of the marina we can use if there are more boats than we have room to tie off in front.

Soren, I have a case of sauce for you and Texas House Call Medical will be sponsoring big fish pot w/ an additional $75.

weather gonna be yucky on the next couple days...but friday south winds gonna turn things around and going to be in the low 80's saturday. Nice.
