Looking for some opinoins on what gear ratio reel everyone is using when fishing their square bills. I have been going middle of the road with a 6.3.1 but curious if others use a slower or faster retrieve and why? Any difference when fishing around submerged timber vs. rocky bottoms? It's fatigue. Lower ratio is less fatigue.

5.1 or 6.2. Just depends on bait and where I throw it. I rarely just reel one in anyway. I work them around cover, stop and go, use the rod to work them, etc. Squarebills are incredibly versatile.
