The lake is getting some good deserved rain though!

I'm fine and the boat came out the best in the ordeal

Not a good feeling seeing it drive away on a wrecker though

Ive had a couple PMs on the fishing/tournament conditions, etc...

I havent been able to fish Ivie in a month having some medical problems that I hope will be resolved next week. I told Chris all week that he was fishing it on his own. Finally decided Friday night to drive over and fish even though i probably wasnt supposed to (wife/doctor). Ended up with 19.61 w 8.35 BB.

It was a tough day with the wind, off and on rain showers, lake turning over (real bad on the dam end), and then all out downpour at the end of the day. We were fortunate to get two good bites that 8 and a 6. I think we only had 8-9 fish all day and only lost one that may have been 3-4 lbs. I think we caught one fish on about every bait we threw it was definitely a junk fishing extravaganza. We ended up just covering water with reaction baits and picking up the few bites we did. I probably made one mistake leaving an area too early where we did get a couple bites but it ended up being ok. It wasnt a good decision though.

The couple areas I had for fishing jigs/plastics had 2.5-3 footers on it so we didnt hit those. Im sure there were some deep fish to be caught just would have been hard to stay on them long.

I was really suprised this weight and the big bass weight held up I really thought there would be a few more big fish caught early.

BLT runs a great trail and Mr Davis and his crew are always welcoming and receptive to your thoughts and ideas. Mr Davis himself was out there at 6:30 testing his fish care truck down at the ramp. They were also accomodating for John from TPWD as he was doing his fish survey. I would highly recommend you check out this trail if you havent already.

As always Jerry and his staff at Elm Creek do a great job with the breakfast crowd.

All in all it was a great time on the water despite the conditions. Chris is fun to fish with and fun to razz back and forth with.

Now if I could just get him to figure out its a bass tournament and not a gar tourney! bolt
