Get hot dogs throw them in microwave for couples of minutes and let it do the magic for you . Does that make them tougher so they stay on the hook better?
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

It does make them plump up and allows the meat to absorb the garlic and oil. I use this recipe too (Sliced hotdogs, Garlic Salt, Olive Oil). The only problem with it (at least to me) is that pan-fish will go crazy for it too and steal your bait in a matter of seconds. So I also use it when I take my boy to the creek with his ultralight setup (to catch bluegills and sunfish).
