I think they made up the whole story on the Secret Bait. I bet they used night crawlers or something simple! How ever you know "DFANMANS" nick name was the walking tackle box. I wonder if they dug something out of his tackle such as a Berkley Product? Who knows!

Thanks every one for the replies Yesterday I caught my PB Gill we estimate at about 10-10.5 inches, we did not measure as we were hot and heavy on them at the time. Again it was an excellent time with friends My wife and daughter are taking a trip next week and I plan of fishing everyday that im not working

Dafanman- Love the pic of that longear (amazing color on that one) and rios!
I gotta get down South. They look so exotic compared to what I catch here in Dallas!

If you are catching Rios in Dallas that is good. The furthest north I have heard of a Rio being caught was in Belton just south of Waco.

No Rios in Dallas that I have caught.
Sorry for the confusion.
Also commenting on the colors of the fish you guys catch down South. The Longears I get into are much darker.

I had the chance to fish with Chuck "Banker" a couple of times. I had never caught a Rio in all of my life. The first Time me and Chuck went out we hit the Salado Creek and I caught six of em. The biggest was 8" and it was fat. The rest were about the same size. I have since caught over 30 Rios this year with the biggest being over one pound and 10 inches in length. I caught it on Lake Dunlap. They are one heck of a fighting fish! Side Note: Good luck on getting those Bulls to bite while sitting on a nest. I saw some HUGE Rios the past summer on both the San Marcos River and the Comal River. They were all guarding nest and would not bite no matter what I threw at em!
