Myself,Robert "DFANMAN" and Fred "New Giller" met up for a day of fishing. We started at 7:15 a.m. on the San Antonio River where the bite was slow. We caught a few small Gills and some Average Longears. We then headed to the Salado Creek where the bite picked up. We caught numerous Rios in the 7 to 9 inch range. We also caught several Blue Gills in 5 to 7 inch range and a bunch of small Gills. We broke for lunch at the Bill Millers and then headed to Boerne to fish Boerne Lake. Had to wait out some super thunder storms and once the rain stopped the fishing picked up. We caught 10 Boerne Slabs (Blue Gills). The Gills ranged from 8.5" to just under 10 inches. The Gills were healthy and fat. We finished the day at 8:15 P.M. It was great meeting Fred and fishing with him. He is a true angler and loves the outdoors. Hope to fish with him a lot more."Fishing with friends. It don't get any better than that!".

Side Note: All fish caught on worms and other baits. Fish on the SA River and the Salado Creek were caught in 2 to 4 feet of water. Fish on Boerne Lake were caught in 15 feet of water. Water was clear on all bodies of water.

I havent seen rain like that in who knows how long and it was certainly worth the fishing delay

Thanks Guys for the replies. "LR" you are right on the money nothing beats fishing all day with friends. "Chuck Wagon" Can't argue with you on those worms however there is one bait that will out fish a worm only on Boerne Lake but I swore to keeping it a secret. Fred again it was nice meeting you. You are heck of an angler and like all of us you love the outdoors. Lots more fishing ahead.

Robert: Those Salado Rios were a blast to catch. That bite was on fire. Also those Longear on the San Antonio River had some awesome colors as they usually do. As for those super Gills on Boerne Lake you simply can't beat em. That was one super site watching those storms moving in and seeing those white caps on that lake.

It was truly a super day of fishing. Hope for many more to come.

Plus #1 on RED WIGGLERS. I wish we had some of those. All we had were Night Crawlers. How ever the secret bait was working 100 percent on those Gills. It was amazing.

Got to agree with the "Chuck Wagon" I don't know of any bait that can beat a "RED WIGGLER" either live or artificial.

Great report guys. Sounds like one fantastic day!! Wish I was with you. New Giller is an outstanding fisherman. His enthusiasm just makes it fun to fish with him.
