Yeah, I learned the hard way too. I was actually wearing my shades and just as the sun started to go down I decided to take my shades off right after I made a cast. On that very cast I had a bass grab my worm tail. I went to set the hook and it sling shotted right into my eye. I got hit and almost fell out of the boat. The pain was horrendous! Lucky for me it wasn't the hook that hit my eye but the weight of the shaky head got me good. My left eye is now permantly dialated because of the incident. I get really bad headaches too.

The best way I have found to avoid injuring yourself is to pull as hard as you can towards your partner. He'll have ten more feet of reaction time than you!

Yea, I recently got nailed in the hand after swatting a crankbait away from my face. It's real eye opener when that thing comes flying atcha! Now, when I'm fight'n a snag, I keep thhe straight rod to my side instead of being in the direct line on fire. And that's still no guarantee. So wear those plastic sunglasses!

Took a 3/16th Bullet weight in the arse cheek one time. Perfect little round welp. I always turn my back to the thang when I'm breaking off.

Man,

I'd send that pic to costas and thank them.

You may get a free pair of glasses out of it.

Good thing he wore plastic lenses. These Numas have high impact ANSI rated lenses, made to protect from ballistics. On top of that they are feather weight.
