What gets me is the amount of batteries and cell phones which contain batteries that I have dug out of the shallows.Think! These things will leak eventually.

Surprisingly, we only found a couple of lures. We did find- 1 prop, 1 trolling motor, 5 batteries, about 10 cell phones, 2 engine blocks and a set of dentures. You can't really blame me for the dentures. I had a cold and sneezed.

Ive heard of guys sinking batteries on spots, if a local starts winning tournaments on one spot, they'll sink batteries to try to kill the spot. Dont know how well that works, doesnt seem like it would keep fish away long. Pretty rotten though.

I clean a good lil strip up on our shores. Prolly lil over a mile. All the same stuff. Recently two fridges, bumper, axle, scored a nice craft$$$man torque wrench, shoes, countless sassys, few batteries, alum dingy. Not many lures when the water dips slowly like this. They tend to stay murky/muddy and or buried and are harder to see. Now after a good rain in the spring or fall is when the treasures really come too. I avg $5-6 bucks an hour in time spent vs lure cost found then. Keeps me hungry for the trash haha. Best haul was in March almost $90 in lures in a 30 min pick-up.
I pick up trash on Treasure once a month. Found a stash of prohibition bottles exposed on the beach of Treasure after the last good storm this year back in April. Lot of deer bones too. I need a metal detector for that next level me thinks.

It's been more than 100 years (many more) that we've been the "melting pot" for many many third-world-country people. On top of that, we have lots of our own like-minded people. We're just grossly out-numbered. There's just too much cleanup work for us who are so few. Then, to top it all off, there's no way this country is going to provide enough jobs for everybody. I go fishing to escape from it all, but now I find out it's impossible. The man in constant sorrow......
Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

The weather is cooling off...organize a BBQ lunch...send everyone at the ramp out with trash bags...fish a couple of hours and pickup trash for an hour or so...bring the all the trash back to the marina...get some kegs and eat lunch... I love it when a plan comes together.... TFP
Above all else hold these two things in the greatest of circumspection; government and self. YOLO=Schiefspiegler

At camp bass in one afternoon at 4 puplic ramps we filled up a 16' trailer. We even picked up a toilet. Whats that all about. I hope it taught the kids to not throw out trash. It is really something that us bass fisherman can do better. Put all soft plastic and old line in a gatorade type bottle and throw it away at the ramp trash can.
