Is it possible to put in on the Brazos below the Decordova Bend dam or is access cut off?
Thanks

It can be done, but it ain't easy. It's a pretty long way to get to the river bed and a rough, rocky, steep bank.

Yeah it is a major pain in the rear to get a yak down there. A cart would be nice. Me and a buddy did it without carts and you have to carry them that whole lil stretch of road down to the damn because they always have that gate closed. Its really not worth it in my opinion.

both of the replies are corfrect andtell the complete story. If you know someone in pecan plantatiopn it would be possible to put in at their beach/park if you could find any water.

Thanks for the info. Very helpful.

According to the brazos.org website there is continuous one gate release going on from now until October. It looks like its gonna be between 400-500cfs. Should be a nice level for a float trip.

I was planning a trip to below PK but I may do it below Granbury. Maybe Mitchell Ford to Hwy 67 if I can set up a shuttle with Rhodes or Low Water. Nice to hear from you Eddie Lane. Hope you are doing well.

Putting in at 67 Friday morning and heading towards Brazos Point. I was really wanting to put in way upstream but apparently there is limited access and the shuttle folks I talked to just do from 67 down. That's ok. It'll just be good to be back on the river.

Eddie, I haven't been yet, I'm heading down there Friday the 16th.
I'll be in Glenrose Sunday around noon, if you aren't doing nothing I'll buy us lunch. I hear Hammonds has some good barbecue.

Yes I have arranged a shuttle with Low Water Canoe Rental. I plan to put in Friday morning the 16th and take out Sunday morning the 18th. That will leave a whole lot of time for fishing and lazing around. After I take out Sunday I'll head to Glen Rose for some barbecue. I'll keep you posted, hope you can make it.
