I see there has been a little OT going on here but I just wanted to share with my fellow carpers. Aside from fishing, I like to get out and do a little coin shooting with my metal detector and tonight was sweet! Aside from the hand full of quarters and pennies I found I hit 2 wheat pennies from 51' and 56' and my first Susan B. Anthony from 1980! Anyone else dabble in coin shooting??

No coin shooting for me. I do tie flies and build rods. With newly aquirred kids my free time has dwindled but i do involve them in my hobbies

That's awesome! I'm going to take my daughter out fir her first time this weekend, I can't wait to see her eyes light up when we dig up some old coins!

I enjoy nature photography. Also, I have some pretty nice telescopes that I set up once in a while. Too much light polution around here to do much good with them. I have been interested in metal detecting, but my old knees would not care for me to crawl around digging holes in the ground.

I play softball with my customers and dove hunt with them. I also bow hunt quite a bit
and i like to drink beer

I like to play tennis and am getting an MBA so aside from those two and fishing I'm about out of time. I would like to get back into hunting again too.

finding that susan b anthony was a hoot I bet.I grew up in Beaumont,Tx.I spent many weekends in the late 60's early 70's metal detecting with my dad.We found thousands of coins.We had a system of cutting the grass and replacing it in one chunk so it was hard to even tell we had dug there.We hit the old fairgrounds and old magnolia park and other old parks.Found lots of buffalo nikcols, V nichols,mercury dimes barber dimes and the old quarters and half dollars were standing liberty I think.many dating in the late 1800's.Lots of indian head pennies.My dad and I were held up at my dad's house in Houston around 1985 by a couple of gents with semi auto pistols.They got the whole collection of coins but not the great memories.Your daughter will love the hobby I'm sure.

like working on cars and putting swaps (motor transplants) in them im addicted to speed and by that i mean going fast. also organizing the tackle box here and there
