I really enjoy throwing crankbaits and I was wondering:
I use H20 Xpress Crankbaits from Academy and I use a certain size which is a 4-6' diver, the usual size for an ordinary crankbait. It is a very productive lure for me but I cant seem to get passed 18" on fish size. So my question is, should I up the size on my crankbait bodys? I have heard that larger baits catch larger fish. Wondering if any of you crankers have any truth or knowledge to my question.
Thanks in advance.

It's hit and miss with cranks. Sometimes even the biggest fish still hit a tiny crank.

It depends man right place right time but some will say yes bigger crank bait but you could throw a worm or jig to trigger those bigger fish but kvd seen a seven and an eight come off a kvd 1.5 and that's a pretty small crankbait

the key to catching toads on cranks is maximizing the time you spend deflecting them off cover.

I laughed when I first hears it. The guy's partner confirmed it by saying it felt like cheating during a tournament. I fished with him on dy and said whatdahel. Tried it and BAM! Strangest way I have fished to date!

Big Fish eat small cranks. Got to be around big fish. If you are just catching small fish on cranks then that probably is what is in the area you are fishing.

Big -vs- Small, both catch big fish but just because you use a bigger crankbait doesn't mean you'll catch bigger fish. Main thing is to fish were the big fish live.

Petro and I caught a 25lb sack with more than a couple of 6lb plus fish coming on the LC 0.5 crankbait. The nice thing about those baits is they inhale them and tend to stay hooked on them.

I agree with Sure Strike. It's also a timing thing. When they are more active is when they will hit a crank.

I've caught 8-10 inch fish on a DD22 and 6+ pounders on square bills a 1/3 that size. It's more where you are fishing and the size forage the bass are keying on.
